The MRO Europe 2008 Show took place at the exhibition hall in the heart of the vast IFEMA Exhibition Center in Madrid, Spain, between September 24 and 25, 2008. We once again had the opportunity to exhibit along side our alliance partner, Avtron Aerospace, Inc. The Exhibition Center is just a few kilometers from the Madrid Barajas International Airport.

The show seemed quieter than in more recent years, most likely a result of the economic downturn that we are experiencing this year. However, in spite of this, several new leads for potential business were realized and these are now being actively pursued.

During the show we were visited at the booth by several existing and prospective customers. The most notable being personnel from the home of the Spanish National Flag Carrier, Iberia Maintenance and Engineering. They expressed their thanks for the effort of the Bauer engineers who had been involved in commissioning the actuator and fuel accessories test stands, the latter of which was close to final acceptance at the time.

Another global MRO show, this time in the Middle East, is also a possible venue for both Bauer and Avtron. MRO Middle East is a new show to the MRO calendar, and should provide excellent networking opportunities in the booming Middle Eastern aviation market. This show will take place in Dubai on January 21-22, 2009. The MRO North America show will be held April 21-23, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. Next year the twelfth annual MRO Europe show is scheduled for September 23-24, 2009 and is to be held in Hamburg, Germany, the home of Lufthansa Technik.
